Katherine Swynford - a diversion.

It's amazing what you find out when you start writing a Blog like this. For example, I had no idea that there was a Katherine Swynford Society . But there is! Indeed there's also a Yahoo Group dedicated to her. I can only think that Philippa, Countess of Arundel, is spinning in her grave at a rate of knots.

Constance is majorly pissed off. 'Why, pray, is there not a Constance of York Society?' she demands. I can see her elegant eyebrows arching northwards - except of course she does tend to shave them off.

'You ain't as famous as her, princess. Not yet!'

As an American Major who may be giving up and sneaking off to physics... I'm not sure you can really measure Angular Rotation in knots. The generally accepted measure is RPM for things smaller than a planet and a rotational period for things bigger.

A more interesting question is what would Philippa's kW output be if we strapped her up with magnets and surrounded the coffin with a solenoid.
